Many of these apply to me too! Is that why we became teachers? Maybe. :) I was never able to read in the car until we bought a van. Now I seem to be able to handle it in short doses (30 minutes at a time...I suppose some wouldn't consider that short!) I never buy magazines because of the advertisements, and I am quite sure I will run out of space for picture books (mine, not the ones the students are allowed to read or my own children are allowed to use). That is how I will know when it is time to retire.
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying this, Karen. #26 made me sit up - one of my all time favorite books.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am completely stealing this idea! Serendipity has always been one of my favorite words too--it was in a book I read in fifth grade and my teacher claimed to not know what it meant, so we had to look it up together.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are working your way through this exercise. I did it at one of Franki's summer workshops, and then modeled it in my classroom; I am fascinated by doing it multiple times - what shows up the same each time (strong thoughts of me as a reader), and what shows up once in a while.
ReplyDeleteFound myself vigorously shaking my head at #s 34, 35, 37, 45, and 50, and saying, "Me, too!"
